Inside the Mayes Pickup
I've decided to let you all look inside a Mayes Pickup to see what sets it apart.

Right off the bat, you see those three small coils--not one long coil. What you get with three smaller coils is a smaller volume of space for RF interference to gum up your signal. You also use less wire which translates to deeper tone. How? The more electrical resistance, the more bleed off of highs and compromised lows. With less wire, there's less resistance. So, boom--more noiseless tone than you can get with an old single coil.

Next time, I'll be writing about why the sustain of a Mayes Pickup goes on and on and on and on . . .

Less resistance, more sound
In the next post, I will have up a picture of the inside of a Fat Kid. This has never been shown before except to guitar builder/artist Joseph Jesselli.

You will see why I can say with full confidence that the Fat Kid boasts 3.3 k-ohm resistance as opposed to the usual 5.7-11.4, depending on the pup. What this means for you is that you don't have to be annoyed by the noise that accompanies most guitars when selecting only one pickup.

As you probably know, most sets of three are wound so that the middle position is out of phase with the other two pickups. This is why most Strat players use position 2 or 4 so they don't have to deal with a noise gate or static.

Mayes Pickups are different. They are noiseless without sacrificing tone or sustain. In fact, the decreased resistance means that a given note or chord will go on much longer than an old single coil.

The benefits are all there and if you don't like it within 30 days of purchase, send it back and I'll refund your money. Promise.

Mayes Pickups
Over the next few weeks, I'll be going over what sets Mayes Pickups apart from the competition and how it can change your guitar into an instrument that produces music on a back drop of static to a back drop of fluffy clouds and satin sheets.

Also, we've consolidated our line for the near future to the Fat Kid. It is our best all-around pickup.

Also, please feel free to email any questions to info@mayespickups.com or leave a comment below so that I can personally answer your questions and post them here for others who might have a similar question.

Thanks,
